ABOUT OUR FOUNDER “A VISIONERY”

Baba-E-Taleem Late, Dr. Mumtaz Ahmed Khan Saheb is a medical graduate from Madras University, he was born at Pune at 6th September 1935, . Founder of Al-Ameen Educational Society, Dr. Mumtaz Ahmed Khan died on May 27 evening leaving a vast legacy of institutions and activists who are engaged in promotion of modern education among the society’s, especially Muslims. He was 86 and devoted nearly 55 years of his life in building educational institutions. Though most of them are in the State of Karnataka, he inspired several like-minded people elsewhere in India to set up schools and colleges, many of them prefixed with ‘Al-Ameen’, a name he was fond of.
It was the thoughtful initiative that gave birth to a greatest educational movement in India viz., “AL-AMEEN MOVEMENT” which was started in the year 1966 at Bangalore in the form of Al-Ameen Educational Society and later spread thought out India and abroad by Baba-E-Taleem Dr. Mumtaz Ahmed Khan Saheb, an activist, a Visionary and a Reformer.
It was discussed that Muslims were backward educationally and an educational institution should be started to redress the defect. Dr. Sab’s idea was encouraged by his family and known personalities namely, Mr. Justice Basheer Ahmed Sayeed of Madras and Prof. Mohammed Sayeed, the principal of Jamal Mohammed College, Tiruchirappalli and Dr. K. Hussain who suggested the name of the movement as “Al-Ameen “, (The Trust- Worthy). The immediate step he took was to start Al-Ameen Arts, Science and Commerce College at Bangalore.
